About BreadHaus

What makes BreadHaus different from other bakeries in Grapevine, TX?

BreadHaus has been serving the Grapevine community since 1996, specializing in traditional, naturally leavened breads made with 100% organic ingredients. Unlike conventional bakeries, we use only flour, water, and salt in our sourdough—no commercial yeast, no artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors. Our long fermentation process (which can take 24-72 hours) develops complex flavors and makes our bread easier to digest.

Are all your breads organic?

Yes! We use only certified organic flours, grains, and seeds from trusted suppliers. Every product at BreadHaus is made from scratch using organic ingredients.

What is naturally leavened bread?

Naturally leavened bread is made using wild yeast and beneficial bacteria from a sourdough starter, rather than commercial yeast. This traditional method produces bread with superior flavor, better digestibility, and improved nutritional value.

Products & Menu

What types of bread do you offer?

Our menu includes long-fermented sourdough, traditional rye bread, whole grain breads, train rolls, German pretzels, plus cookies, pies, and pastries. View our complete menu here.

Do you offer gluten-free options?

We do carry some items that are made without wheat — including our Vollkorn rye bread (100% rye, no wheat) and certain sweet items. However, BreadHaus is not a dedicated gluten-free bakery, and we cannot guarantee zero cross-contamination, so we do not recommend our products for customers with celiac disease. If you have a gluten sensitivity (non-celiac), our long-fermented sourdough may be easier to tolerate than conventional bread, as the extended fermentation process breaks down a significant portion of the gluten proteins.

Do you have vegan options?

Yes! Many of our breads are naturally vegan — our sourdough, rye, and most whole grain loaves are made with just flour, water, and salt, with no eggs, dairy, or animal products. This includes the Grapevine Sourdough, Country Bread, Bavarian Rye, Vollkorn, and most of our multigrain varieties. Some specialty breads and sweet items do contain eggs or butter, so please ask at the counter if you have specific needs. BreadHaus is a great option for vegans looking for an organic, additive-free artisan bread near Grapevine or the DFW area.

Ingredients & Quality

No. BreadHaus products contain absolutely no artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors.

What are the ingredients in your sourdough bread?

Our signature sourdough contains just three ingredients: organic flour, water, and salt. That's it.

Is sourdough bread easier to digest?

Yes! The long fermentation process breaks down gluten proteins and phytic acid, making the bread easier to digest than conventional bread. Note: Sourdough is not gluten-free and is not safe for people with celiac disease.

We've been baking this way since 1996 — nearly 30 years — making us one of the original and most established organic artisan bakeries in the DFW metroplex. Our 4.8-star rating from over 400 Google reviews reflects the quality that Dallas-Fort Worth customers have come to expect.

What makes BreadHaus different from other bakeries in Dallas-Fort Worth?

Most bakeries in the DFW area use commercial yeast, refined flour, and a long list of additives. BreadHaus takes the opposite approach: we use only 100% certified organic ingredients, naturally leaven every loaf with a wild yeast sourdough starter (no commercial yeast, ever), and ferment our dough for 24 to 72 hours. This combination of organic ingredients, traditional leavening, and long fermentation is unique in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Check our Ingredient Standards page to see our full "No Way List" of ingredients we refuse to use.
