German Bread & Rye

Bavarian Rye • Vollkorn • Brötchen • Baked Fresh in Grapevine & Frisco

One of the Most Authentic German Bread Selections in DFW

BreadHaus has been baking traditional German and European breads in North Texas since 1996. Our rye breads range from dense, 100% rye Vollkorn to lighter Bavarian-style farm loaves, and every one is naturally leavened, made with organic flour and baked fresh.

Rye is the heart of German baking, and it's a grain that needs sourdough. Rye doesn't build structure the way wheat does, so the acidity of a live starter is what gives a good rye loaf its tight crumb and tangy flavor. That's exactly how we make ours: a live starter, a long fermentation, and nothing artificial.
